Hello, world! Welcome to Human Rights Weekly. This blog is focused on exploring human rights violations around the world on weekly basis and the judicial, political, and societal responses to them. The blog will explore human rights issues from both a legal and a policy perspective but will present my personal opinion on the matters occasionally.
In order to address major human rights violations around the world effectively, the blog is broken down into four different categories of human rights: The Refugee Crisis, Women and Girls Rights, Human Trafficking, and Crimes Against Humanity. Every week, you will read a piece of news, a story, or updates covering human rights law and policies under one (or more depending on the week) of those categories. The Weekly Updates will also include articles on human rights submitted by blog contributors addressing either the listed four categories or other human rights issues.
Human rights are fundamental rights that every single person in this world is entitiled to their enjoyments, and in a perfect world, such a blog would not exists. However, we don’t live in a perfect world, unfortunately, and people’s basic rights are being ripped away from them, not on a weekly basis, but daily.
As someone who personally had their basic human rights ripped away from her, I am passionate and committed to raising awareness and giving voice to the voiceless. I will keep blogging until there are no more violations to report in any part of the world.
We are all created equal, and we should all remain so.
Enjoy reading and always stay informed!
